Terms
The terms of using Shelf Help
Last updated 2026-10-19
These are the plain terms for using Shelf Help. By making an account, you agree to them. What we keep about you is on the privacy page.
-
Who runs it
Shelf Help is run by Brightwork Digital. You can write to us at hello@shelfhelp.co.
-
Plans and prices
The plans and their prices are on the pricing section of the home page. Prices are in US dollars, and Stripe takes the payments.
-
Plus
Plus renews each month or year until you cancel. A free trial needs a card, and Plus starts when it ends unless you cancel first.
Cancel any time under Manage billing in the app. Plus lasts to the end of the time you paid for. Then your account moves to Free, and no book is deleted. Past the Free limits, a library takes no new books, and extra libraries become read-only.
-
Founding
Founding is one payment for everything in Plus, for as long as Shelf Help runs. It doesn’t renew. If you delete your account, the payment isn’t refunded.
-
Fair use
Don’t store anything illegal. Send the photo reader only photos of books, and don’t try to overload it. Don’t add other people’s personal details, like a borrower’s email, without their okay.
-
Breaking the rules
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
-
As it is
We work hard to keep Shelf Help running and your books safe. But it comes as it is, with no promises beyond these terms. Export your books now and then, and keep a copy.
-
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email account holders before the change takes effect.
